SLJ Summit

Librarians as Leaders of 21st Century Learning

As Thanksgiving arrives, I grow a little more corny. I am planning a blog post about those things I am grateful for in my work. What are you thankful for? In terms of collection, what have you seen that truly rocks? What really works in your facility? For your practice?

I am extremely grateful to have had this chance to attend the SLJ Summit. It was my first...fate seemed to intervene and keep me from previous events. Now I know why people like it so much! The size of the group was great for thoughtful discussions, the vendors were more than generous, and of course everyone at SLJ deserves a huge thank-you for making all this possible. I have come out of it with some very important contacts, increased awareness about new products, better understanding of ones with which I had basic familiarity, and tons of ideas from the sessions and keynotes. Kudos to all involved in making this all come together in this relaxing and fun location!

I am incredibly grateful to be part of this dynamic and energizing profession! I love what I do, and I love helping the teachers and students in my school. I'm also grateful for the wonderful print and digital collection I am so very fortunate to have---we are truly blessed to have so many wonderful resources. I also am thankful for my personal learning network that inspires me and helps to continually grow as a professional and an individual!
